The winter is very much a season where the enthusiasm and metal of club golfers are tested. Do you want to play in tough conditions or just wait for the summer to come back?

The purists will brave the conditions and thrive on winter golf. Sometimes, the wind and the rain can bring the best out of your game and you might relish the challenge.

However, sometimes the elements can prove too much for your local golf course and the club may have to shut certain holes or the whole track altogether if it is too wet.

If your course is waterlogged and too murky to play, you are probably sitting at home on the weekend, twiddling your thumbs and wondering how you will get through the next hour.

Well, Louis Jean of clubfaceuk may have just the tonic for your boredom. All you need is some soft golf balls, an artificial mat to hit off and a whole lot of imagination.

As you can see in the footage above, this keen golfer is not willing to stop just because his golf club is shut. He puts his mat down in the street and plays street golf.

This may look like a dangerous activity, but with soft golf balls, it is fairly risk-free. Louis sets up a little par-4 in a residential road and plays an absolute blinder.

He hit a driver nice and close to the green. He performed a solid chip-and-run with an 8-iron and rolled in the putt for a par.

Many golfers will watch this video and cringe as Louis hits his driver that is teed up on the gravel road. Luckily, he avoided scraping his club on the hard surface.

If you do decide to play a round of street golf, please do take care and make sure you use softballs. And primarily, please avoid ruining the head of your driver.
