VPAR allows golfers across UK to compete in same tournament

FOR the first time ever, golfers across the country will be pitted against each other in the same open tournament and it’s made possible by using VPAR’s award-winning app.

The competition transports amateur golf into the 21st century, encouraging more golf to be played and competitiveness between clubs by connecting them live on the course and online.

In search of the ultimate pairs team, VPAR have launched ‘The VPAR Championship’ in partnership with some of the top clubs in the UK including: Wentworth, Stoke Park, The Celtic Manor, Burhill, Royal Mid-Surrey, The Grove and The Oxfordshire.

Members and guests from each course have the opportunity to create their own team in a best 1 from 2 medal format, with play ongoing any time between  August and Sunday September 28th 2014.

The teams are competing for 3 coveted spots allocated to each club. These pairs will go through to the final which is being played on 14th October on the Twenty Ten course at The Celtic Manor, which hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup.

Once there, the 24 teams will battle it out to be crowned VPAR Champions and the chance to both win a brand new set of TaylorMade irons.

This new concept allows players to see the score required while playing, in order to qualify for the final.

Jason Stoop, Managing Director, VPAR said: “We are very excited to launch such an innovative and unique tournament. VPAR is at the very forefront of live scoring and the golf technology space.

“Through this event we want to connect as well as engage golfers from across the country and provide a mechanism to the clubs to help encourage more golf to be played.”
