OUTRAGE! Brooks Koepka to play with

Brooks Koepka will be fuming after receiving news he is out with Patrick Cantlay for the first two rounds of The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.

LIV Golf star and five-time major champion Koepka described PGA Tour star Cantlay as being "brutally slow" in the final round of The Masters earlier this season.

That was a day when Koepka held a two-stroke lead starting out the round only to finish four strokes behind playing partner Jon Rahm.

"Yeah, the group in front of us was brutally slow," said a frustrated Koepka after the final round at Augusta National.

"Jon went to the bathroom like seven times during the round, and we were still waiting."

Cantlay then hit back at Koepka.

Koepka spoke to the media today just moments before the R1 and R2 tee times for Thursday and Friday were announced at Royal Liverpool.

During his presser, he fired back at a question about Rory McIlroy.

We can only imagine BK's reaction to learning he was being sent out with Cantlay and also former Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama.

The group of Koepka, Cantlay and Matsuyama will be out at 9.36am Thursday and 2.37pm Friday.

It should probably also be noted that Matsuyama isn't the fastest player on the circuit, either.

While the news might not have sat well with Brooks, it's fair to say a large number of golf fans are loving the R&A's decsion!

News also emerged earlier today that Koepka would be out with fellow LIV Golf players Dustin Johnson and Talor Gooch, as well as his good friend and former US Open champion Gary Woodland in Wednesday's practice round.

That has led a number of fans to believe Woodland could soon become a replacement for an out-of-favour Matt Wolff on Koepka's Smash GC
