Bryson DeChambeau has been hitting drives so far on the range this week that one of his bombs struck a PGA Tour rep's rented car ahead of this week's Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at TPC Summerlin.

On Wednesday, the PGA Tour posted a video on Twitter of the players practicing on the driving range, but DeChambeau and his team were set up a good 50 yards behind the rest of the players so that he could use his driver. Watch the clip below:

Unfortunately for Aaron Dill, a PGA Tour rep working for Titleist Vokey Design wedges, his rented Infinity QX70 got in the way of one of DeChambeau's 400-yard-plus drives and it left a dent in the back bumper!

"Better my rental than my body," Dill joked to Golfweek

"Reps were calling me saying he was bombing it into their trucks," Cobra Golf’s director of tour operations Ben Schomin told Golfweek.

"I had him stop in the morning and had to move him back in the afternoon for safety reasons."

DeChambeau starts as a warm tournament favourite for this week's PGA Tour event, which marks his first start since landing his maiden major title by six strokes at the US Open last month.

Other players who will likely give DeChambeau most to think about this week include in-form Webb Simpson, Las Vegas resident and reigning US PGA champion Collin Morikawa, Matthew Wolff, Patrick Cantlay, Hideki Matsuyama and Harris English.
