PGA Tour pro makes absolutely WILD 10 (!) on par-4 at RBC Heritage

Russell Knox made an absolute mess of the 16th at Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina on Thursday after recording a 10 on the par-4 during the first round of the PGA Tour's RBC Heritage

The Scotsman was having a relatively quiet round in Hilton Head, and was even-par through his first 15 holes after making one birdie and one bogey on his front nine.

But all that would change as the two-time PGA Tour winner approached the 420-yard par-4 16th at Harbour Town.

While footage doesn't seem to be online to document what went down on, ShotTracker paints a wild picture.

The hole was rough from the get-go as Knox, 37, hit his tee shot 271 yards into a waste bunker left of the fairway, with 125 yards left to the hole.

Knox then hit his second shot even further left, 71 yards into what the TourCast listed as "unknown." That shot resulted in a penalty and Knox proceeded to drop his ball back to where it had landed after his initial drive.

Now on his fourth shot - which he needed to hole out from 125 yards to make par - Knox hit it just 34 yards and remained in the waste bunker left of the fairway. Now going for bogey, Knox still had 92 yards to the pin.

If you think it couldn't get any worse - just wait.

Knox proceeded to hit his fifth shot back into the "unknown" for a second penalty and had to once again drop his ball back in the waste bunker, this time from the same spot where it landed on his fourth shot.

Keeping up? Now Knox was on what was counting as his seventh shot, which finally made its way toward the green, but even still he couldn't catch a break.

This one landed 32 feet from the hole in the right green-side bunker. From there he then missed the green again, sailing it past the pin and was 56 feet from the hole, left of the green.

Finally, only nine strokes later, Knox was able to safely land his ball on the green, sticking it to three feet of the pin. He tapped in his putt for an ugly 10 and would ultimately par the next two to card a 6-over par 77.

He was 13 strokes back of early leader Viktor Hovland
