RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour: Prize purse, payout info, field.

If you thought the tournament immediately proceeding The Masters would lack star power, then you thought wrong as the RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour is not short of elite names.

That's because this year the stop at Harbour Town Golf Links was granted elevated event status, which means it promises the top players and a hefty purse increase.

The RBC Heritage's purse has more than doubled since last year, increasing from $8m to $20m. The winner will take home $3.6m.

Despite a Masters Tournament that saw many delays, nearly all of the top-10 in the OWGR are in the field this week in South Carolina.

Unfortunately the field is without Rory McIlroy and Will Zalatoris.

McIlroy is skipping his second designated event, which means he should be prohibited from collecting his bonus cash from the player impact program.

A report has surfaced suggesting McIlroy will not be docked his bonus cash though.

Zalatoris is out for the remainder of the year having undergone season-ending back surgery.

In addition with LIV Golf's Cameron Smith, they are the only three from the top 10 who won't be teeing it up in Hilton Head.

Sunday's newly crowned Masters winner Jon Rahm has also made the trip from Georgia and will be making his first tournament start since reclaiming the World No. 1 spot from Scottie Scheffler, who's also in the field this week.

Jordan Spieth is the defending champion after earning his 13th career PGA Tour victory last season in a playoff against Patrick Cantlay.

Cantlay is also back at the RBC Heritage after finishing tied for 14th at the Masters.
