Rory McIlroy has long been the type of player to endure wildly good spells followed by performances that lead to sheer panic.
Unfortunately for McIlroy, 34, he is currently in the midst of the latter. He started the year with a bang, triumphing in Dubai in a showdown against Patrick Reed.
But since? It's been a story we are all too familiar with.
He had back-to-back missed cuts at two events he would have been desperate to perform well in: The Players and The Masters.
That was after McIlroy got hot under the collar with his driving performance at Riviera and not being a factor at TPC Scottsdale.
McIlroy knows exactly what he needs to do. He's not in panic mode. Yet. He spoke about the issues he is having before the 2023 PGA Championship.
The Ulsterman reportedly visited Tiger Woods before the major for some advice about his golf swing.
McIlroy's coach Michael Bannon was also there, according to the report by Golf Channel's Eamon Lynch.
He did not reveal specifically what he was working on, but Woods reportedly spotted a couple of things he hadn't seen before.
McIlroy, however, did tell reporters the fix was:
The Northern Irishman said after the session he was really excited to go to work on the changes he wants to adopt.
"It gave me a new level of enthusiasm going into these next few months," he said.
McIlroy demonstrated some of the new feels he is working on before the 2023 Memorial.
Per Barstool Sports' Dan Rapaport, McIlroy was seen testing out this training aid on the range at Muirfield Village.

Norman's son pointed this out. "These are nothing new," Greg Norman Jr wrote.
"Please give me an example of 'desperation' without using the word 'desperate,'" one fan wrote.
Another added: "Pathetic, that a natural golfer like Rory is resorting to technical devices. Sad day."
