Wesley Bryan says he wishes his older brother George could take his spot for this week's PGA Tour event after the pair duked it out in a Monday Q playoff for a place at the Wyndham Championship.

Most golf fans are familiar with the brothers, but if you're not we'll give you a quick explainer.

Wesley has been playing on tour since 2016 and even claimed the 2017 RBC Heritage but has since struggled for form owing to a number of injuries.

His older brother George is also a professional golfer but spends the majority of his time filming YouTube videos for his Bryan Bros channel.

Side note: Wesley also decided to live stream a players' meeting with PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan in the immediate aftermath of the LIV Golf merger.

Both brothers decided to peg it up at the Monday Q for the Wyndham Championship.

More PGA Tour news:

George and Wesley carded rounds of 66 at Bermuda Run Country Club in North Carolina.

Hank Lebioda and Joey Lane were the first two players to book their spots at Sedgefield Country Club.

Which meant that Wesley and George battled it out in a playoff alongside Tommy 'Two Gloves' Gainey, John Lyras and Ricky Palonis.

Long story short: Wesley emerged with a place. I mean, look at this shot:

Wesley later wrote on Instagram:

"Sorry George - still love you, but I'm still going to try to beat you until the day I die. In everything."

In the immediate aftermath of the playoff, Wesley said he wished he could give up his spot for his older brother.

He said:

"I wish, honestly, if I could, if the PGA Tour would let me just give him the spot instead [and] kind of mess up the names a little bit. I would prefer that."

There's a chance we may get to see George in PGA Tour action next year, though.

The elder brother confirmed he has signed up to PGA Tour Q-School.

"I'm going for it this year," George said. "The game is good. I mean, why not?!"
