Els to wear I-Onics wristbands

Ernie Els, three-time major champion, will be receiving a little extra help when he returns to The Congressional golf course in June to challenge for the US Open title he won there in 1997.

He will wear the revolutionary I-Onics sports wrist band, the magnetic ion-releasing sports bracelet claiming improved flexibility and strength.

Announcing his endorsement of the red, black, navy and pink bands, designed to help players’ bodies perform to their maximum potential, Els, said: “Throughout my career I’ve always been a firm believer in magnetic therapy products. I’m delighted to be working with I-Onics.”

The Hong kong-based distributors says that in modern life, human bodies are overwhelmed with positive ions emitted from electronic devices like computers and mobile phones, which can cause a significant imbalance in our bodies' natural ion levels.

The I-Onics Power Sport magnetic health band releases negative ions at 1,700 per second to corrects this imbalance so your body becomes stronger, more flexible and less prone to stiffness. Additional benefits include improved sleep and increased blood flow.

Simon Millington, CEO of I-onics International Ltd says golfers will notice an improvement to their swing power and energy levels once they start wearing the band, priced at £9.99, which he says will also help combat fatigue and retain concentration.

"Having such a high-profile golfer as Ernie wearing the band on Tour is fantastic,” he says. "Being able to maintain focus and performance over a long round of golf is something every golfer would love to do and we're convinced the wrist band dramatically increases this in a natural and harmless way."
