Pros
long, easy to work the ball with
Cons
not forgiving

The RIP Speed fairway wood is aimed at the better player who can consistently strike ttheir woods well.

It has a classic look at address and has a much more penetrating ball flight when compared to the Max Speed or Hot Speed fairway woods. Due to this I was getting great distances and the club would be useful in the wind.

When struck out the middle the feel is absolutely superb and ranks with some of the best fairway woods on the market. It allows for great workability as well and not just left or right but also up and down – if a stinger is needed the Rip Speed has it in the arsenal.

As to be expected with a high performance fairway wood, the RIP Speed offers minimal forgiveness so you’re going to struggle if you mishit it.

Verdict

This is a high performance fairway wood and compares well against the best metals on the market although it trumps most on price. It’s long and it’s easy to work the ball with.
