Jordan Spieth believes he will be "as good as I've ever been" on the PGA Tour in 2026

'Next year is going to be a really good year for me, I can feel it..." Jordan Spieth fires a warning to the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy ahead of the 2026 PGA Tour season.

Jordan Spieth might be winless for well over three years but the three-time major champion thinks he could end up having his greatest season yet on the PGA Tour in 2026.

At least now he's injury free...

The American's game has been blighted by injury not just this season but really for the past few seasons.

Spieth, 32, only recently returned from a wrist surgery that required him to miss the second half of 2024.

He first injured his wrist in May 2023 when the extensor carpi ulnaris tendon (ECU) popped out of the sheath.

Then last month he encountered shoulder and neck trouble, which forced him out of two big PGA Tour events at the Travelers Championship and Genesis Scottish Open.

He did manage to play in all four majors this season but could only manage a T14 at The Masters as his best result.

Spieth missed the cut at the US PGA, finished T23 at the US Open and then closed things out with T40 at The Open.

In amongst the doom and gloom this season, there has been reason for cheer with four top-10 finishes.

Spieth's best performances came with a pair of fourth-place finishes at the WM Phoenix Open and on home turf at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

But as a result of some lacklustre results and missing a number of key events throughout the season, Spieth has been shuffled back to a current 50th on the FedEx Cup standings heading into this week's final regular event at the Wyndham Championship

He's also a lowly 51st in the world rankings and a disappointing 27th in the US Ryder Cup standings with three weeks until deadline day.

Jordan Spieth believes 2026 could be his best yet on the PGA Tour

If truth be told the Ryder Cup is likely out of reach, unless Spieth can somehow pick up a win over the next few weeks.

Either way, Spieth would very much like to climb the ladder ahead of the start of the FedEx Cup Playoffs next week, hence why he has decided to rock up at Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina this week.

The former World No.1 is also looking towards 2026, a season he considers could prove his greatest yet on the PGA Tour.

"I didn't like asking for exemptions this year," said Spieth, reflecting on his season.

"I was fortunate to receive a lot of them, but you just never know.

"When you miss out on elevated events where they're structured with the best players in the world, you don't want to miss them.

"It's a big reason why I'm here and when I sat out I moved from 38th or 39th down to 48th [actually 50th] just by not playing, so it would be nice to have a huge boost this week and not have to worry about it next week, but I'm fully prepared to have some stress next week on that 50 number, but a good week here or next week takes the weight off.

"I just need to play the way I've been playing, that's an added element I don't want to have but do have, that's part of this year. I missed the first month of the year and also recently missed a couple of events, so would really like to finish strong this year.

"But next year is going to be a really good year for me, I can feel it. It's all coming along, I'll be healthy, structurally, putting, the mechanics all getting really, really close, and one good off-season should get me nailed down to be as good as I've ever been and that's my goal."

Spieth's good pal Scottie Scheffler may have something to say about that of course.

Spieth's latest comments will be music to the ears of his most ardent fans.

The popular American has been stuck on unlucky 13 for PGA Tour wins ever since April 2022 at the RBC Heritage.

But the way Spieth is talking, it sounds like it won't be much longer until he changes that.

I think we can all agree the pro game is all the more better when Jordan is playing well.
