Need To Know

Light and easy to transport, new control system, no fiddly bits to adjust speed
Our score:
PRICE: £284.00 YEAR: from 2012

I rocked up at the local golf club the other day waiting for my good friend and playing partner to arrive on the first tee.

Only he wasn't late, he arrived in the car park perfectly ahead of our allotted tee-time. He had just been wrestling with his clubs and trolley out the car boot for the past 20 minutes.

If only he had the Go Kart Automatic electric trolley.

The Automatic version of the GoKart not only folds up neatly, but is light and easy to transport. It  includes a new control system and doesn't mess around with buttons, rollers or knobs to manually adjust the speed. You simply hold the sturdy handle and walk.

The trolley will automatically adjust the motor speed to match your pace. You can let go of the handle while you're walking and the GoKart will continue running at the same speed. It's a very neat piece of kit and extremely easy to use.

The standard battery weighs 6.5kg and is the right choice for most people. It has plenty of power for 18 holes and if you regularly play 36 holes, there's a 36 hole version - but it's almost 3kg heavier than the standard battery. Both batteries come with a 12 month warranty.

GoKart also have a lithium battery option, which is much lighter at 2.5kg and has a much longer life than a lead/acid equivalent. It will also complete up to 36 holes on a single charge and comes with a two year warranty.

The trolley is available in black/blue, black/green, black/orange, black/pink and black/red in 18-hole, 36-hole and lithium options.

The GoKart Automatic is a refreshingly different approach to trolley design and is incredibly easy to assemble. It’s also lightweight and great value for money. An excellent performer but the unusual looks may not be to everyone’s taste.
