Triangular Titleist 907 D1 driver

With a name like Slamannan, this village near Falkirk should have its own golf course! It doesn't but Golfmagic member Mark Turner lives there and wins a prize for his review of the club that enables him to hit more tee shots not only further but straighter - the

Titleist 907 D1
triangular-headed driver.

"A superb driver for all handicaps," he says. "Some reviews state that this driver is for high handicappers only and that you can't shape the ball with it. That's nonsense."

Mark is a 40 year-old ten handicapper at Dullatur Golf club near Falkirk, Stirlingshire and wins one of five official DVDs of Padraig Harrington's Open championship win at Carnoustie, selected among the best reviews submitted during October and November.

He has been playing 'on and off for 26 years' but regularly since 1992.

"I try to play at least four times a week during the summer and at least once a week during the winter. I have played courses in various countries including Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Australia and Zimbabwe. I aim to get down to single figures next year. "

King Cobra Speed LD offset fairway metal

Stewart Davis
, from Cranleigh Surrey, describes his

King Cobra M Speed LD offset fairway metals
are 'fantastic.'

"As well as the 5- and 7-wood, I also have the driver. Great balance and weight distibution make this club range a must for those seeking rapid game improvement."

He adds: "I'm 55 in March next year and a firefighter by trade. I dabbled with golf some years ago but because of work I didn't carry on with it. But in May/June last year I went out with a few colleagues for a round of golf and enjoyed it so much I joined my local club Gatton Manor and gained my handicap which now stands at 17.5. I love it and hope to get down to 15-ish early next year."

Trevor Stables
(41) is a church minister from Leyland in Lancashire (no golf on Sundays, then Trevor) and told us about the TaylorMade RAC r7 XD irons he bought which are 'very long and forgiving'.

A member at Standish Court Golf Club near Wigan, he has been playing for seven years and has an 11 handicap.

"Overall the XDs are excellent clubs. I am hitting more greens in regulation and taking less club."

Mizuno MX-900 iron

Lee Farrow
(28) from Hartlepool works in IT in the power industry on Teesside and reviewed the

Mizuno MX-900 steel-shafted irons
and described them as 'like velvet in your hands.'

My scores have dropped by an average of five shots in my last four
rounds since getting these irons because of the ease with which they get the ball in the air and how they fly like an arrow at the pin," says Lee, who plays as a visitor at Wilton, High Throston and The Wynyard.

Our final winner is Zac Elshaw, who reviewed
