LIV Golf players at US Ryder Cup? "Not on my radar" says captain

US Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson admits he's given no thought to picking LIV Golf players in Rome this September.

LIV Golf players at US Ryder Cup?

European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald may have left the door open for LIV Golf players to make his team this September, but his rival Zach Johnson admits he is not even thinking about it right now.

Johnson, speaking ahead of this week's US PGA Championship at Oak Hill, told the media his six captain's picks are "not even a discussion item" with his team at this very moment in time.

With LIV Golf League events remaining locked out of receiving any Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points, all potential players will more than likely need to rely on one of six captain's picks on either side of the pond.

On the potential involvement of LIV Golf players in his US side in Rome this September, Johnson said:

"We're at a point right now where when it comes to -- it's not even a discussion item. There's maybe a couple guys that have come close to securing their spot in the top 6, but when it comes to picks, it's not even on my radar. I haven't even -- especially given how many points are still out there, whether you're talking about major championships or elevated events or all of the above. I think it would be premature and almost irresponsible to even go into that. It's not on my radar right now."
