Amgen Irish Open tee times: Reigning Masters champion Rory McIlroy has played his way into contention at the K club with 18 holes remaining.
Reigning Masters champion Rory McIlroy has teed up an outside chance to claim his first victory since completing the career grand slam at The Masters.
A patient McIlroy, 36, carded a bogey-free 68 on Saturday at the K Club to close the gap to four shots with leader Adrien Saddier at the 2025 Amgen Irish Open.
Saddier endured an up-and-down day, but made birdie on his final hole in round three to open up a one-shot lead over Spain's Angel Hidalgo.
McIlroy told reporters he was a tad frustrated with his 68, given he was driving the ball well and firing at pins - but the wind kept on catching him out.
Should McIlroy win, it would mark his first professional victory since completing the career grand slam at Augusta National in April.
The final round of the Amgen Irish Open will begin at 7.10am. McIlroy is playing in the penultimate group alongside Spain's Alfredo Garcia-Heredia.
The duo are off at 12.56pm local time.
