Germany's Marcel Schneider will take a narrow one-shot lead over his compatriot Nicolai von Dellingshausen into the final round of the Austrian Alpine Open.

Both players will be going in search of their maiden title on the DP World Tour at Golf Club Gut Altentann.

Schneider, 35, carded a flawless 4-under 66 for the second day running to move to 15-under par.

After a slow start to the third round with pars on the first eight holes, Schneider caught fire with four birdies in the space of five holes from the 9th.

Despite never having won on the DP World Tour, Schneider has tasted victory before with three wins on the lower-tier HotelPlanner Tour.

Schneider is now attempting to go wire-to-wire and pick up his first win on the former European Tour this week.

Rather impressively, Schneider has yet to register a bogey since the par-4 6th in the first round.

That marks his only dropped shot so far this week.

His compatriot von Dellingshausen eagled the par-5 18th to book a final-round tie with Schneider.

von Dellingshausen has also never won on the DP World Tour but he has also won three times to his name over on the developmental German Pro Golf Tour.

He won the Order of Merit on the Pro Golf Tour in 2017.

Schneider is ranked 348th in the world, with von Dellingshausen down in 457th.

"Once again today, I felt like I had a bit of a slow start," said Schneider.

"I had one chance on the third hole but I didn't take that. I managed it around the greens and didn't drop a shot, that was important early on.

"I stayed patient, waiting for the first birdie to drop on the 9th, then after that everything went in my direction.

"I was hitting good irons, holed the putts.

"Overall, I'm happy. On the last, I would have liked to two-putt and take the birdie, but it is what it is."

One shot down with a chance of a first victory on the circuit, von Dellingshausen is relishing the prospect on Sunday.

"It’s what we practice for," he said.

"I’m looking forward to it.

"We practiced it today already, I’m looking forward to playing with him again. It’s nice for the Germans out there watching.

"But I’m happy to play with him again. We had a lot of fun out there and we were hyping each other up when things were going well. I’m really looking forward to it."

Jeff Winther is also in the mix on 13-under par as the Dane seeks a second title on the DP World Tour.

Winther surged up the board on Moving Day with a stunning bogey-free round of 62.

He also did it with an old putter.

England's Callum Tarren (66) is also looking to see out a first win on the DP World Tour.

Tarren is three shots off the pace on 12-under in solo fourth position.

Sweden's Sebastian Soderberg matched Winther's round of 62 to vault up into a tie for fifth on 10-under par alongside South Africa's Jayden Schaper (67).
