England's John Parry has come under criticism on golf social media for the manner in which he went about using AimPoint over his four footer on the 18th hole in the final round of the Nexo Championship.

As many of you will know by now, AimPoint is a green-reading method that helps golfers determine where to aim their putts by feeling the slope of the green with their feet.

It's a system that relies on tactile feedback rather than solely visual observation, helping golfers account for the break caused by slopes.

While proving a popular trend around professional tours and with a number of amateurs, it's fair to say AimPoint still very much splits opinion.

Golf social media sensation Paige Spiranac has been a vocal critic of AimPoint down the years, especially during the 2023 Masters.

The main issue, at least for its detractors, is the time it takes players to use AimPoint to read a putt, along with all the stomping of feet that goes on near and around the hole.

Case in point by Parry on Sunday, which you can watch in the video below

As we join the clip that has since gone viral, DP World Tour pro Parry, 38, was reading his four footer for par on the par-5 18th while using AimPoint.

Only it was the manner in which he went about reading this particular par save that irked plenty on golf social media.

Some consider, if you pardon the pun, Parry overstepped the mark.

He was seen reading his putt multiple times going back and forwards over his line and then even past the hole the other side.

To his credit, he did hole the four footer for par to finish the week at 3-under par in a tie for third.

The putt also secured him $142,083 and nudged him one place up to sixth in the season-long DP World Tour Rankings.

Parry won his second career title on the DP World Tour in Mauritius at the end of 2024, which formed part of this season.

The Nexo Championship was contested on the New Course at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Trump cut the red ribbon for the opening of the course earlier this month.

Scotland's Grant Forrest saw out a commanding five-shot victory as he captured his second career win on the DP World Tour.

US President Trump was seen Facetiming Forrest moments after his win.
