LIV Golf duo confirm participation at iconic DP World Tour stop
LIV Golf pair Brooks Koepka and Bubba Watson have confirmed they will tee it up at the iconic Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in October.
LIV Golf pair Brooks Koepka and Bubba Watson have confirmed their participation for the forthcoming Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The tournament forms part of the DP World Tour's 'Back 9' and is played annually across three of Scotland's best links courses; Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and St Andrews.
Koepka's inclusion is no surprise given he has participated on four occasions and regards St Andrews as his 'favourite' course in the world.
Former Masters champion Watson will also make his debut in the tournament over 2-5 October.
Fellow LIV recruit Tyrrell Hatton previously confirmed he will be back to defend his title. The Englishman won the Dunhill for the third time last year.
Should the Englishman prevail this year, he would become the first golfer to win it four times.
"I've been fortunate to play in several Dunhill Links, as well as two Open Championships at St. Andrews over the years, and these trips are always highlights," said Koepka.
"The atmosphere on and off the course at the Dunhill is fantastic. I was able to play with my father one year and my good friend and caddie, Ricky Elliott, the other.
"Those two weeks will always be very special to me. I love links golf and St. Andrews is my favourite course in the world."
Watson added: "I've heard so much about the event and I'm really looking forward to playing.
"St Andrews is one of the most special and historic golfing locations in the world and Carnoustie is among the greatest Open Championship courses. Kingsbarns is a beautiful layout and a challenge in the wind.
"I'm also excited to have my wife, Angie, there with me and get to play with her too. All in all, I think we are in for a great week."
