Joost Luiten fires light-hearted dig at LIV Golf after Thomas Pieters bold claim
Joost Luiten had quite the response to Thomas Pieters' claim that LIV Golf is "10 times better" in standard than on the DP World Tour.
Joost Luiten has hit back at Thomas Pieters' claim that LIV Golf is "10 times better" in terms of standard than on the DP World Tour with a light-hearted jab about Official World Golf Ranking points.
Pieters told Gulf News following LIV Golf Jeddah at the weekend that he considers the strength in depth of the Saudi-bankrolled league to be vastly superior to that of the DP World Tour on which he played regularly.

Pieters won six times on the DP World Tour from 2015 to 2022 before accepting reported $10m fee to join LIV Golf in 2023.
The big-hitting Belgian joined forces with Bubba Watson's RangeGoats GC but he has only managed to pick up just one top-10 finish since he joined in February last season.
Pieters has put that down to some personal issues and bad weather back home.
While fellow six-time DP World Tour winner Joost Luiten believes Pieters is possibly right in his assumption about the gulf in class, especially with the likes of Jon Rahm now on the LIV Golf League in 2024, the Dutchman could not resist a little jab of his own.

LIV Golf has officially given up in their quest to have OWGR accreditation, according to a report by SI this week.
It remains the only top-tier professional circuit in the world that does not receive world ranking points.
