Nelly Korda will enter the third round of the KPMG Women's PGA Championship six strokes adrift of the lead.

The American's bid for a third straight major title suffered an early setback after she opened with two-under 68 at Hazeltine National, with South Korea’s Ina Yoon making a fast start to seize the early momentum.

But the world number one, who won the Chevron Championship and a first U.S. Women's Open title earlier this year, fired a four-under 68 on Friday.

She sits on six-under par overall and six strokes adrift of Yoon, who consolidated her position at the top of the leaderboard with a 69.

Four players, including Canada's Brooke Henderson, are tied for second on seven-under.

Rose Zhang and Patty Tavatanakit are also inside the top 10.

Charley Hull looked as though she had made the cut on the number at two-over.

But the cut line fell at one-over, sending the Englishwoman packing.

Her compatriot Lottie Woad will also have the weekend off after missing the cut by two strokes.

Linn Grant, Leona Maguire and Mimi Rhodes will also have the weekend off.

Only the top 70 players and ties made it through.
