Ladies European Tour confirms April Player of the Month shortlist following three events

The Ladies European Tour (LET) has unveiled its four-player shortlist for the April 2026 Player of the Month award following a busy stretch of competition across the United States and South Africa.

Three events made up the April schedule, beginning with the Aramco Championship in Las Vegas before the Tour moved to South Africa for the Joburg Ladies Open and the Investec SA Women’s Open.

Introduced in 2025, the monthly award is decided by LET commentators Richard Kaufman and Sophie Walker, who select four nominees based on standout performances. Fans can then vote for the winner via the LET website and app.

April 2026 Nominees

Agathe Laisne (France)

The Frenchwoman continued her impressive start to the season by claiming victory at the Joburg Ladies Open. Laisne produced a dramatic final round, highlighted by an eagle on the 14th and a crucial birdie on the 17th to force a playoff. She eventually secured the title with a birdie on the fifth extra hole, overcoming home favourite Casandra Alexander and Kirsten Rudgeley. The win propelled her to the top of the Order of Merit and marked her second victory of the 2026 campaign.

Cara Gainer (England)

Consistency defined Gainer’s April, with two strong finishes during the South African swing. She secured a share of fifth place at the Joburg Ladies Open before improving to a runner-up finish at the Investec SA Women’s Open. Her performances lifted her into the top 10 on the Order of Merit, underlining her steady form.

Esme Hamilton (England)

Hamilton enjoyed a breakthrough month, claiming her maiden LET title at the Investec SA Women’s Open. Competing in her first full season on Tour, the 26-year-old delivered a composed display in challenging conditions in Cape Town. She closed with back-to-back low rounds over the weekend to seal victory, marking a significant milestone in her career after earning full playing status this year.

Lauren Coughlin (USA)

Coughlin delivered one of the most dominant performances of the month with a wire-to-wire victory at the Aramco Championship in Las Vegas. The Solheim Cup player finished five shots clear of world number one Nelly Korda, showcasing control and consistency throughout the week at Shadow Creek. The win secured her second LET title and further added to her growing international success.

Voting for the April Player of the Month award is open until 3pm BST on May 5, 2026, via the LET’s official platforms.
