Masters champion Rory McIlroy will look to sign off an historic year with another victory at the Australian Open.

The 36-year-old Northern Irishman began the year with a victory at Pebble Beach, won the coveted Players Championship in March for the third time before finally ending his wait for the green jacket in April.

He also won the Irish Open, helped Europe secure an away Ryder Cup victory and, most recently, secured his seventh Race to Dubai Crown to inch closer to Colin Montgomerie's record.

The Australian Open represents McIlroy's professional tournament of 2025 and he is joined in the field by a host of top stars at the iconic Royal Melbourne.

Home favourites Adam Scott, Min Woo Lee, Cameron Smith and LIV Golf's Joaquin Niemann are teeing it up this week.

Australian Open prize money 2025

The 2025 Australian Open has a total prize purse of $2m, with the champion walking away with a cheque for $289,000.

America's Ryggs Johnston is the defending champion. Former winners also include the aforementioned Scott and McIlroy. Jordan Spieth and Lee Westwood have also won here.

GolfMagic will post the final payouts from the Australian Open on this page, so don't forget to check back in at the end of the week to see how much they all won.
