We would tentatively suggest Rory McIlroy's net worth is just fine these days.

But it's quite remarkable that so far in 2024 Scottie Scheffler's caddie Ted Scott has earned more money than the Northern Irishman on the PGA Tour.

Our Alex Lodge crunched the numbers and found that, as things stand, Scheffler has netted $10,939,500 in official PGA Tour prize money this year.

Of course, a large chunk of that whopping figure came thanks to his victories at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship.

Assuming that Scheffler pays the standard 10 per cent to his looper, then Scott has taken home $1,093,950.

Of that total, $850,000 came over the last two weeks.

Nice life, Ted.

These earnings also don't factor Scott's rumoured base salary of $135,000

McIlroy has had a quiet start to the PGA Tour season and has so far accumulated $798,205

We're sure McIlroy likely doesn't bother to see just how much cash he is raking in these days.

He's still one of the wealthiest sports stars in the world. According to Forbes, McIlroy earned $80.1m in 2023 alone.

Overall, Spotrac claim McIlroy's total career earnings to date are a dizzying $140,933,264

Who is Ted Scott?

Scott is a familiar face on the PGA Tour.

He is undoubtedly best-known for his stint on the bag with double Masters champion Bubba Watson

Before Watson, he worked with Grant Waite, Olin Browne and former U.S. Ryder Cup captain Paul Azinger.

Scott almost retired in 2021 after splitting somewhat acrimoniously with Watson.

But Scheffler managed to convince Scott to continue at the end of the 2021 campaign after a trial run.

Scott is also a former mini-tour pro so it's fair to say he knows what he is doing.

At the time of publication, it's estimated his earnings with Scheffler now exceed $5,000,000
