Chris Gotterup held off Rory McIlroy to win his second PGA Tour title at the Genesis Scottish Open.
Gotterup, 25, started the final round in a tie for the lead with McIlroy on 11-under par.
McIlroy briefly nosed ahead early when Gotterup bogeyed the 1st, but the American turned the tables with four birdies in the space six holes from the 7th.
Gotterup then marched into a two-shot lead with a birdie on the par-5 16th, albeit receiving a huge break off the tee when his ball clattered into a group of spectators, preventing it from finding the gorse bushes.
The big-hitting American then held his nerve on the final two holes to see out a second PGA Tour title.
He finished the week on 15-under par.
Gotterup, who equalled The Renaissance Club course record on Friday with a 61, won $1.575m for winning the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open.
He won his first PGA Tour title at the Myrtle Beach Classic in May 2024.
McIlroy finished in a tie for second alongside England's Marco Penge on 13-under par.
The World No.2 will now head into next week's Open Championship on his home turf of Royal Portrush.
The Northern Irishman will be looking for a better performance than his missed cut there last time around in 2019.
McIlroy, who completed the career grand slam at The Masters in April, won his sole Open at Royal Liverpool in 2014.
Nicolai Hojgaard and Matt Fitzpatrick rounded out the top five at the Scottish Open on 12-under par.
Hojgaard's performance books his place at The Open.
England's Justin Rose fired a best of the day 63 to finish solo sixth on 11-under par.

Gotterup wins the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open for his second career PGA Tour title.
The American two putts for par on 18 to finish the week at 15-under par.
McIlroy also two putts for par to finish in a tie for second on 13-under par alongside Penge.
The victory sends Gotterup into his first ever Open Championship next week.

McIlroy had a 25 footer for birdie but missed on the right side, while Gotterup got up and down from the right side of the green.

He was hugely fortunate off the tee to clatter into a group of spectators and not end up in a gorse bush.
McIlroy took three putts from the back edge of the green and his par leaves him two back.

McIlroy then sent his third shot in beyond the hole to 15 feet.
He duly converted his par save from right to left to remain one back at 13-under.
