Several golf fans remarked Tiger Woods may have helped the United States' Ryder Cup team at Bethpage Black two weeks ago after footage emerged of the 15-time major champion hitting "ridiculous" flop shots during a recent shoot for TaylorMade.

Woods has not played a professional golf event since the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon.

He ruptured his left Achilles in March and the resulting surgery forced him to miss all four of this year's major championships.

In early September, footage emerged of Woods, now 49, hitting balls on a driving range in public view for the first time in months

A video clip captured from the Nexus Cup showed Woods hitting full wedge shots apparently pain-free.

Now, Woods has given his legion of fans hope that his latest comeback will be sooner rather than later.

Woods' equipment manufacturer, TaylorMade, have uploaded a short video showing behind the scenes footage from a short game clinic with LPGA Tour star Nelly Korda

He has always been a wizard with a wedge in his hand but this is on another level.

"All I see is more trophies," one fan opined on X. "Love that cut spin nipper," another added.

When is Tiger Woods likely to play again?

It's likely Woods will play in the PNC Championship with his teenage son Charlie this December.

Team Woods has played in the previous four editions of the parent/child PGA Tour event.

They finished runner-up in 2024 to Bernhard Langer and his son, losing in a sudden-death play-off.

There is also every chance Woods could decide to play the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas over 4-7 December.

Woods serves as the tournament host of the invite-only PGA Tour event.

TGL return?

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's technology-infused golf league, TGL, will return for season two next January.

TGL features six teams made up of top PGA Tour players with a 15-match regular season that includes seven matches in nine days.

The matches are a combination of conventional golf and simulated action played out on a video screen.

Woods' Jupiter Links GC team start their season on 13 January.

TGL revealed their full schedule on Monday

Woods experienced what he considered one of the most embarrassing moments of his illustrious career during the first season of TGL.

In a miscommunication with his team, Woods believed he had 99 yards to the hole when in fact the distance was 199.

Acting on misinformation, Woods left it well short - sparking uncontrollable laughter from his teammates
