Tiger Woods is hitting balls again and it's sent PGA Tour fans into a frenzy
Golf legend Tiger Woods hits balls alongside PGA Tour pro Will Zalatoris for the first time in public since undergoing surgery in March.
To the delight of golf fans around the world, Tiger Woods finally looks on the verge of making a return to the PGA Tour.
Woods, 49, was seen hitting balls on the practice range at Liberty National during his Nexus Cup event earlier today.
The Nexus Cup is a high-profile event that unites golfers, celebrities and philanthropists in support of Woods' TGR Foundation.
The tournament is held annually at Liberty National Golf Club and the tournament combines two days of team-based golf competition with luxury experiences, including evening festivities at the NEXUS Club New York.
But back to the top of the story and Woods has sent his most ardent fans wild after hitting balls once again.
It marks the golf legend's first public swings since surgery to repair a left Achilles tendon in March.
Woods was yesterday seen giving an emotive speech after cutting the ribbon on his brand-new TGR Learning Lab at the Cobbs Creek Golf & Education campus in Philadelphia.
Woods' last competitive outing was a missed cut at The Open Championship at Royal Troon in July 2024.
Prior to undergoing surgery to repair his left Achilles tendon, the former World No.1 was already recovering from the sixth back surgery of his career towards the back of 2024.
Fast forward to today though and the 15-time major champion was seen chipping balls alongside fellow PGA Tour pro Will Zalatoris, who has also been sidelined significantly through injury over the past couple of seasons.
A couple of videos have since been posted on X / Twitter of Woods hitting balls during his clinic at the Nexus Cup.
In one clip, Woods is seen smiling after hitting the pin with a shot.
"OMG OMG OMG," commented one excited Woods fan.
"That is super-fast recovery. Not surprised with this guy's drive and will. We shall see," wrote another.
Another tweeted: "Tiger looks great."
"I've rewatched this 20 times," wrote one.
"Senior Tour, here he comes," tweeted another.

Zalatoris underwent a second microdiscectomy surgery in May 2025 after re-herniating two discs in his back, which had been a growing concern after the 2025 PGA Championship.
Both Woods and Zalatoris are expecting to return to action in early 2026, but perhaps sooner after seeing today's latest shots from Liberty National.
There is potential that Woods and his young cub Charlie Woods could once again compete in the annual PNC Championship just before Christmas.
But we'll have to wait and see.
Woods will turn 50 years old on 30 December, and it means next season he will be eligible to join the PGA Tour Champions circuit where he will also be able to ride in a golf cart should he so wish.
Four-time major champion Ernie Els recently urged Woods to come and join the Tour so he can get competitive again and win tournaments.
Els did slightly dagger Woods in the process though, admitting it "doesn't help him to finish 70th" on the PGA Tour.
It remains to be seen whether Woods will choose to rock up and support Keegan Bradley's Team USA at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage in two weeks time.
Woods has reportedly been helping Bradley out behind the scenes with the planning of the team.
