J.T. Poston will take a commanding four-shot lead into the final round of the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village.

After two suspensions in play on Saturday, the third round was finally completed bright and early on Saturday morning.

Play got back underway at 7.30am local time on Sunday, and Poston wasted little time in taking complete control of the tournament.

Poston signed for a 69 to move to 12-under par and four shots clear of his compatriot and playing partner Ryan Gerard.

Sam Burns, who will join them in the final group of the final round, finds himself five shots off the pace on seven-under par.

Tommy Fleetwood and Wyndham Clark round out the top five on six-under par.

World number one Scottie Scheffler returned with two birdies on Sunday to bump himself up to three-under par, but that is nine shots back.

Scheffler is looking to become the first player since Tiger Woods in 2001 to win the Memorial Tournament three times in a row.

Rory McIlroy, who is seeking a first ever win at Muirfield Village, is well behind at level par after signing for a one-under 71.

Poston, 33, is looking to land his fourth career title on the PGA Tour, while Gerard is going in search of a second.

A victory for Poston would see him qualify for the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills - and avoid him having to compete in Monday's 36-hole qualifier.

The Memorial Tournament marks the penultimate Signature Event of the 2026 PGA Tour season.

The tournament, hosted by record 18-time major champoion Jack Nicklaus, carries a huge $20m prize purse with $4m going to the winner.

The PGA Tour has confirmed players will be sent out in three-balls off split tees for the final round, instead of two-balls off the first tee as had been planned.

A total of 53 players will compete in the final round.
