Jim Nantz pays emotional tribute after CBS member dies in car crash at Memorial Tournament
Shock at Memorial Tournament as CBS production assistant working PGA Tour event dies after car crash.
CBS production assistant Bryce Adair has died following a car crash on Wednesday while working at the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament.
Adair, originally from Martinez just outside Augusta, Georgia, was part of the CBS Sports production team covering this week's tournament in Ohio when the fatal accident occurred.
Adair's passing was acknowledged during Saturday's third-round coverage by CBS Sports lead presenter Jim Nantz, who delivered an emotional on-air tribute (watch below) as colleagues and viewers were informed of the loss.
Adair had built a growing career in sports production.
A graduate of Lakeside High School, where he played basketball, he went on to study communications at Valdosta State University, later working as an intramural supervisor.
His professional experience also included roles with Augusta National Golf Club, home of The Masters, as a merchandiser and as an audio operator for the Augusta GreenJackets.
CBS Sports described Adair as a valued member of its production staff, highlighting his reliability, positive energy, and commitment to supporting live broadcast operations at major sporting events.
Colleagues noted his ability to help ensure coverage ran smoothly under the pressures of live television.

Tributes have also poured in from friends and family on social media, remembering Adair as warm, kind, and full of potential.
One message read that his “smile’s the embodiment of the sun,” while another said the world felt “a little dimmer” without him.
In the days following Adair's death, a friend and colleague launched a fundraiser on GoFundMe to support Adair's family.
The campaign continues to receive donations and has raised more than $67,000 at the time of publication.
RIP Bryce Adair
