RBC Canadian Open 2026 field confirmed with four world top-10 stars set for TPC Toronto

While there will be no return for Rory McIlroy at this year's RBC Canadian Open, fans will still be treated to a stellar cast of PGA Tour talent when the championship heads to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley's North Course from 11-14 June.

The PGA Tour event takes place one week before the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. 

Some players prefer to compete the week before a major to sharpen their games under tournament conditions, while others opt for a quieter week at home to rest, prepare mentally and conserve energy ahead of one of the most demanding tests in golf.

Six-time major champion McIlroy has decided not to tee it up in Canada, despite having made the RBC Canadian Open a regular fixture in his schedule since 2019. 

That decision is largely down to the Canadian Open's new postiion in the 2026 schedule, and the Northern Irishman wanting to limit tournament play in a bid to save his best golf for the majors. 

The RBC Canadian Open officially announced its 2026 field on Friday, with four of the world's top 10 players currently committed to tee it up in Ontario.

Among the headline names are Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and Collin Morikawa, all of whom are expected to compete at TPC Toronto next week.

Morikawa will be making his first start since the PGA Championship. 

According to tournament host Jack Nicklaus, the former major champion chose to skip this week's Memorial Tournament to spend time at home with his wife as the couple awaits the birth of their first child.

Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka is also set to make his first appearance at the Canadian national open since 2019, adding further star power to an already impressive field.

Fitzpatrick arrives in Canada enjoying one of the best seasons of his career. 

The Englishman has already collected three victories in 2026 — the Valspar Championship, RBC Heritage and Zurich Classic alongside brother Alex Fitzpatrick — while also finishing runner-up at The Players Championship. 

Remarkably, Fitzpatrick has yet to miss a cut in 12 starts this season and has already earned more than $10 million in prize money.
