Scottie Scheffler led 28 (yes 28!) different stats on the PGA Tour in 2025
Scottie Scheffler might not have won the FedEx Cup this season, but he absolutely trounced his rivals by leading 28 different categorical stats on the PGA Tour in 2025.
Scottie Scheffler set a new personal record by ranking first in 28 different statistical categories on the PGA Tour in 2025 — three more than he did in 2024.
In this article GolfMagic takes a deeper dive into why Scheffler is such a dominant World No.1 as we head into the 2026 season.
Scheffler, 29, won six official tournaments on the PGA Tour in 2025, including two majors at the US PGA and The Open — but he failed to win the FedEx Cup as that went to Tommy Fleetwood (albeit the rules changed to start the Tour Championship this time around).
That's one less victory than what he achieved in 2024, but he only won the one major at The Masters that season. He did, however, end the season as the FedEx Cup champion.
As it stands a month shy of 2026, Scheffler is a runaway seven-point leader over Rory McIlroy, 36, in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), and there is little to no sign world order will change anytime soon.
When you consider Scheffler led 28 of the official PGA Tour stats this season (three more than in 2024), and McIlroy led just one (putting from 15-20 feet), you really do start to see why the four-time major champion is the best golfer on the planet across the board.
So which statistics did Scheffler lead on the PGA Tour this season exactly?
GolfMagic takes a deeper dive below..
Scottie Scheffler led 28 different PGA Tour stats in 2025
Of the standout stats, Scheffler led three of the six crucial strokes-gained stats (Total 2.743, Tee to Green 2.361, Approach the Green 1.291).
He also led arguably the most important stat of them all — scoring average (67.99).
Scheffler's scoring average fell just shy of the lowest single-season scoring average in PGA Tour history of 67.79, shared by Tiger Woods in both 2000 and 2007.
Scheffler also swept the scoring average for each of the first four rounds, with his lowest average coming in round one, and he led both front nine and back nine scoring averages too.
Other stat-leaders include proximity to the hole (33 feet), approaches from 50-125 yards (15 feet) and bounce back (36%).
Scheffler's 2025 official PGA Tour earnings of $27,659,550 also made him the season's money leader, but that's not the highest single-season total in PGA Tour history.
He holds that record with his 2024 earnings of $29,228,357.

Who wins Player of the Year - Scheffler or McIlroy?
Whether all the wins and statistical dominance is enough for him to shake off McIlroy and win a fourth consecutive PGA Tour Player of the Year title remains to be seen, but in my book, two majors and six wins in total on the season, along with leading 28 different categories on the PGA Tour makes the decision a no brainer.
McIlroy won three times on the PGA Tour this season, highlighted of course by one major at The Masters — a win that saw him complete the career grand slam. But as noted, he only led one stat all year — 27 less than Scheffler.
The Northern Irishman is also a three-time winner of the PGA Tour Player of the Year award (2012, 2014, 2019).
Scheffler will go in search of more history this week when he looks to become the first player in history to win Woods' Hero World Challenge three times in a row at Albany.
He starts a red-hot favourite to get the job done as he looks to make it seventh heaven in 2025.
Scheffler will then round out his season with a team contest against McIlroy at the Optum Golf Channel Games on 17 December.
