Tiger Woods’ mugshot sparks social media frenzy after DUI arrest following Florida car crash
Tiger Woods mugshot circulates online after DUI arrest in Florida.
Tiger Woods’ mugshot has gone viral on social media following his DUI arrest Friday afternoon in Florida, just two weeks before the 2026 Masters.
The 50-year-old golf legend faces multiple charges including driving under the influence (DUI) after a rollover car crash near his Jupiter Island home.
Woods was arrested around 2pm on a driving under the influence (DUI) charge after his Range Rover SUV overturned while overtaking a work truck at high speed.
According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, Woods clipped the back of the trailer, causing his vehicle to roll onto its driver’s side.
Remarkably, neither Woods nor the driver of the truck was injured, though the dramatic crash left his vehicle damaged.
The 15-time major champion crawled out of the passenger side before law enforcement arrived.
A breathalyzer test showed no alcohol, leading investigators to suspect impairment from medication or other drugs.
Woods refused a urine test, which carries a separate misdemeanor charge under Florida law.
An image of Woods released from the Associated Press showed him wearing golf clothes while on the phone yards away from his bashed-up Range Rover.
"Our DUI investigators came to the scene and Mr. Woods did exemplify signs of impairment," Budensiek said.
"Of course he did explain the injuries and surgeries that he had.
"We did take that into account, but they did do some in-depth roadside tests and when it was determined he was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County Jail."
Budensiek added: "They believe it was some kind of medication or drugs. He cooperated with the breathalyzer, but did not cooperate with the urine test."
Woods now faces three misdemeanor charges: DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
Florida law requires he remain in jail for at least eight hours before being released on bond.
He was arrested and booked into the Martin County Jail.
Woods' mugshot was released to the public late Friday evening.
He was wearing a light blue Sun Day Red shirt, and his eyes appeared bloodshot.
It's understood Woods is being released from jail at 11pm local time.

It marks Woods’ second DUI arrest, following a 2017 incident in Jupiter, Florida, where he later pleaded guilty to reckless driving.
He was also involved in a serious car crash in February 2021, suffering severe leg fractures that took months of rehabilitation.
Prior to those incidents, Woods hit a fire hydrant, a tree, and several hedges in a bizarre collision outside his home in 2009. That particular moment sparked accusations of extramarital affairs, which led to the end of his seven-year marriage with Elin Nordegren and the loss of lucrative sponsorship deals.
Woods' long history of injuries — including multiple back surgeries, ACL reconstruction, Achilles tendon ruptures, and chronic knee issues — has restricted his competitive Tour schedule in recent years.
He has not played in a competitive Tour event now since missing the cut at The Open in July 2024.
Woods returned to indoor golf at the TGL final on Tuesday night. There he admitted he was doing all he could to get back in time for The Masters in two weeks' time.
He said he would be in attendance for golf's first major at famed Augusta National, but was unable to confirm whether he will participate in the tournament when the first round starts on Thursday 9 April.
