Travelers Championship prize money 2026: How much Viktor Hovland, others won
Travelers Championship prize money 2026: Check out how much Viktor Hovland scooped for winning the final signature event of the season at TPC River Highlands.
European Ryder Cup star Viktor Hovland landed one of the biggest victories career at the 2026 Travelers Championship.
The Norwegian, 28, overcame world number one Scottie Scheffler in a sudden-death playoff at TPC River Highlands.
Scheffler looked as though he was going to enter the winner's circle for the second time this season after he piled on the pressure on the first extra hole.
The American, 30, knocked his approach to inside six feet but Hovland responded with an equally impressive shot and held his nerve.
Scheffler then pulled his putt left to hand Hovland his first win on the PGA Tour since last March at the Valspar Championship.
A visibly emotional Hovland explained it was the first time his mother Galina had seen him win in person.
"I won a few times now over the world, but never had my mum or dad watch me win one," Hovland said.
"So that was really cool to have her here. We get to go home together to Norway later today."
Of his tussle with Scheffler, Hovland added: "You always want to try to beat the best.
"What he's been doing the last few years is just super impressive, and I have so much respect for him and his game.
"To go up against him and have a chance to beat him, I think it's just super exciting.
"That's what you wake up every day to get better, that's for those moments right there."
Scheffler said: "I've been playing golf with Viktor for a long time. We've had some good battles in college and out here as a pro. He has so much talent.
"He hits the ball so solidly. I remember playing with him at Bay Hill a few years ago and I was just telling him, like, 'Dude, you just hit the ball like so solid every time.'
"It's really quite impressive. He's a guy that has a lot of talent and works really hard. So those are the types of guys you like to see have success."
