Viktor Hovland net worth 2023: What is Viktor Hovland's net worth?

So you want to know Viktor Hovland's net worth? Well, you've come to the right place.

Here, GolfMagic breaks down the approximate net worth of the PGA Tour star.

Hovland is 26 years old but he's been around pro golf for some time now.

He was highly touted before he turned professional, meaning that a number of sponsors were eager to pay him to rep their brands.

Back in 2019, Hovland signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Swedish brand apparel J. Lindeberg.

He's also a staff golfer with PING, serves as brand ambassadors for Lexus, American technology company CISCO and bank Pareto Securities.

Unfortunately we do not know how much Hovland is paid for these services but these sponsorship deals are thought to be highly lucrative.

For context, Rory McIlroy famously signed a $250m deal with Nike in 2013. McIlroy was also paid a further $100m when that deal was extended, running through to 2027.

Of course, the majority of Hovland's net worth comes from his on-course earnings and PGA Tour bonuses.

The PGA Tour runs a bonus program - essentially a social media popularity contest - that rewards the most popular players.

Tiger Woods gets the most clicks and views and therefore reigns supreme in the PIP.

Hovland did not feature in the inaugural PIP in 2021, but he did scoop a $2m bonus in 2022.

The most recent edition of the PIP saw Hovland bank a cool $5m bonus.

Before the 2024 Tour Championship, Hovland had played a total of 97 events on the PGA Tour, amassing five wins.

If we crunch the numbers from the publicly available prize money from each event, Hovland had earned a total of $26,689,778 by December 2024.

Of course, there are taxes and other people to take care of. Hovland has to pay his manager, his coach and tip his caddie Shay Knight.

Assuming Hovland tips the typical 8 to 10 per cent to his looper, that still is a handsome amount of money leftover in the Norwegian's bank account.

"I can get double meat"

Despite playing for huge riches on tour every other week, it took a long time for Hovland to feel financially stable.

He joked during the 2022 Genesis Invitational, hosted by Tiger Woods, that he knew he had made it after he was able to splurge on double meat and extra guacamole when he orders Chipotle.

Hovland said:

"I knew I had some security when I first turned pro I didn't have to count every single dollar I spend on air travel and food. That was a big thing. Instead of not getting guac at Chipotle, I can get double meat and some extra Chipotle and I don't have to worry about it. It's stuff like that on a daily basis. You don't have to think about it. If you think a certain thing is good for your game or good for your health or whatever it is then you can go do it. You don't have to worry how much it's going to cost. That was about it."
