Watch: Scottie Scheffler hits incredible greenside shank at the Memorial (and still makes par)
World number one Scottie Scheffler saved par on the sixth hole during the second round of the Memorial Tournament despite hitting an incredible shank from the bunker.
Scottie Scheffler's attempt at winning the Memorial for the third year in a row isn't off to the best start.
The world number one and pre-tournament favourite found himself well off the pace at Jack's place after 18 holes.
Four-time major champion Scheffler, 29, ended the first round six shots adrift of the lead.
His first round also included a tense moment with his caddie after he found the water on the 16th despite 'flushing' his tee shot.
Scheffler began his second round of the $20m signature event with four straight pars but looked as though he was going to drop his first shot of the day at the par-five fifth.
He was in the greenside bunker playing his third shot and was likely eyeing up and up-and-down birdie to get the momentum going.
Instead, he hit a brutal shank that saw his golf ball dart straight right.
Scheffler chipped onto the green and held his nerve over the seven-footer to stay even par for his round.

Unfortunately for Scheffler, he made bogeys on the eighth and ninth to turn in two-over and fall even further adrift of the lead.
He is attempting to win the Memorial Tournament for the third time in a row having reigned supreme in 2024 and 2025.
Tiger Woods was the last golfer to win here three times on the spin.
Scheffler's season so far has been underwhelming by his lofty standards.
He began the year with a bang, winning on his first start at The American Express.
But Scheffler is still looking for his 21st PGA Tour title.
The biggest problem Scheffler has faced this season is starting too slowly.

At times, he has become extremely agitated on the course and often short with reporters in post-round interviews.
Round one of the 2026 Memorial saw Scheffler vent his frustration at his experienced looper Ted Scott.
After finding the water with his tee shot at the 16th, hot mics picked up Scheffler saying to Scott: "I don't think you understand how frustrating that is."
As Scheffler trudged towards the drop zone, he added: "I never thought that I was in the water
"I don't know what to do. I can't hear a word you're saying.”
"I feel like that was a good shot. Now I'm in the water. Absolutely flushed a seven-iron and we get the wind wrong, and I end up in the water.
"I don't think you understand how frustrating that is. I thought it was a good shot. It really was. Golly."
Scheffler will soon turn his attention to the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.
The third men's major of the year will represent the first time has a crack at completing the career grand slam.
Scheffler's victory at last July's Open at Royal Portrush saw him complete the third leg, having already won two Masters titles and the PGA Championship.
