Welcome to live day one updates from the 2026 Solheim Cup at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands.
The wait is over. The 2026 Solheim Cup is officially underway.
Europe and the United States have arrived at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands for three days of match-play drama, with the opening foursomes already getting the action underway.
And there is no shortage of star power in the very first match.
Charley Hull and Lottie Woad are taking on Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz in the opening clash, giving us a heavyweight contest right from the first tee.
European captain Anna Nordqvist has opted for a fascinating blend of experience and youth, sending eight-time Solheim Cup player Hull out alongside Woad, who is making her debut in the competition.
Hull knows exactly what is required in this environment and will be expected to provide the calm head alongside one of Europe's most exciting newcomers. But Woad could hardly have been handed a more eye-catching introduction to the Solheim Cup.
Standing in their way is Korda, the American World No.1 and one of the biggest stars in women's golf, alongside Corpuz. The US pairing will be determined to silence the home support and give Angela Stanford's team an early advantage.
The opening match teed off at 6.40am GMT (7.40am local time), with the other three foursomes matches following at 12-minute intervals.
Day 1 Foursomes Matches:
- 640 - Hull/Woad vs Korda/Corpuz
- 652 - Madsen/Boutier vs Al.Lee/Couglin
- 704 - Henseleit/Maguire vs An.Lee/Duncan
- 716 - Stark/Grant vs Zhang/Kupcho
Once the morning session is complete, attention will turn to the afternoon fourballs, which are scheduled to begin shortly after midday GMT.
This is the 20th Solheim Cup, with the United States holding an 11-7-1 advantage in the overall series.
The Americans are also the defending champions, while Europe will be hoping home advantage at Bernardus can help them wrestle the trophy back.
One thing in Europe's favour is the fact USA has not won an away Solheim Cup match since Germany in 2015.
With 12 players on each side, two captains and three days of match-play ahead, there is plenty still to come.
