‘Is anyone thirsty?!’ Dame Laura Davies goes full party mode after Solheim Cup win

Dame Laura Davies has provided the perfect ending to an unforgettable Solheim Cup after a hilarious video emerged of the European legend handing out beers on the team bus.

Just hours after Anna Nordqvist's Team Europe defeated Angela Stanford's Team USA 15-13 at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands, Davies was filmed walking up the aisle of the jubilant European team bus with a selection of beers.

“Is anyone thirsty?!” Davies shouted.

The response from the bus was emphatic.

“YEAH!!!” the players roared, before Davies began handing out beers to the victorious European team.

But the celebrations did not stop there. 

As the beers made their way around the bus, Team Europe broke into a chant aimed squarely at their American opponents.

“WE DRINK ON SUNDAY! THEY DRINK ON SATURDAY!”

The chant was met with more huge cheers and laughter as the European players celebrated a remarkable victory over the USA.

The response came after Stanford's side were seen drinking beers on the team bus after they won the Saturday fourballs session 3-1 to tie up the contest heading into Sunday.

The celebrations were well deserved after Europe produced a sensational Sunday performance to reclaim the Solheim Cup for the first time since 2023.

The contest had been delicately poised at 8-8 heading into the singles, but Europe came flying out of the blocks. 

Charley Hull set the tone with a commanding 3&2 victory over Megan Khang before Linn Grant, Nanna Koerstz Madsen, Nastasia Nadaud and Julia Lopez Ramirez also secured crucial points.

The defining moment arrived when England's Lottie Woad defeated Auston Kim 2&1 in Match 8, taking Europe to the required 14.5 points and ensuring the trophy would return to European hands.

Carlota Ciganda then officially sealed the win when beating Jennifer Kupcho 4&2. 

The Spaniard's victory also moved her to 5.5 career Solheim Cup singles points, third on the all-time European list.

Sweden's Grant was arguably Europe's star performer across the week, finishing with a perfect 4-0 record. Only Grant and USA's Alison Lee managed four points apiece, with Lee producing the biggest singles comeback since 2013 to beat Esther Henseleit 1 up after being four down through 11 holes.

The triumph was Europe's ninth Solheim Cup victory, although the USA still lead the overall race with 11. 

Davies had actually predicted before the event that the contest would go right down to the final matches, and she proved to be absolutely on the money — even if she was slightly out with her predicted final result.

She also represented Europe in 12 Solheim Cups, winning four times.
