Who is Linn Grant’s boyfriend? Meet Pontus Samuelsson, her caddie on LPGA and Solheim Cup

Linn Grant's boyfriend Pontus Samuelsson has an unusual role in the European star's career — he's also the man carrying her golf bag.

Grant, 27, has been one of Europe's standout performers at the 2026 Solheim Cup, and with the Swede starring at Bernardus Golf, attention has naturally turned to the man by her side.

That man is Pontus Samuelsson, Grant's long-term boyfriend and full-time caddie on the LPGA Tour.

Samuelsson is a golfer himself and has attempted to make his own breakthrough in the professional ranks. However, that career has not materialised as he would have hoped, and he now plays a key role in Grant's career instead.

Samuelsson represents Landeryds Golf Club in Sweden and first carried Grant's bag during her rookie season on the LPGA Tour in 2022.

Four years on, Samuelsson is now a regular presence on the bag, travelling with Grant around the world and working alongside her at the biggest events in women's golf — including this week's Solheim Cup.

The arrangement means the couple spend an enormous amount of time together, something the two-time LPGA winner believes can actually be a major advantage.

Asked earlier this season how important it was to have Samuelsson by her side when things aren't going well on the golf course, Grant replied: "Very important."

Speaking to the media at Mayakoba, Grant acknowledged that communication isn't always easy in a relationship, particularly when emotions are involved, but believes their partnership gives her confidence.

"I think for the two of us it's a little bit easier because we want to spend time together," Grant said. "So, yeah, I think that's a strength that we have that we just bring out on the golf course."

Samuelsson was born on July 13, 2000, in Linköping, Sweden, and his own experience as a golfer means he understands the pressure Grant faces on the course.

The pair have been together for more than five years, and their relationship has evolved alongside Grant's rise to the top level of the women's game.

Grant, ranked 61st in the world, went 4-0 to become top points scorer at the 2026 Solheim Cup. 

The adidas athlete has already enjoyed a remarkable career, becoming the first woman to win on the DP World Tour when she claimed the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed in 2022.

The mixed men's and women's tournament produced another remarkable chapter for Grant in June 2024, when she won the event for a second time after starting the final round 11 shots behind 54-hole leader Sebastian Söderberg.

Grant's incredible comeback remains the biggest ever in the final round of a pro golf tournament, underlining the Swede's ability to produce her best golf when the pressure is at its highest.
