PGA Championship LIVE: Day three as it happened

PGA Championship LIVE: Follow live updates from the third round of the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club.

Scottie Scheffler proved exactly why he's the World No.1 on moving day at the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club.

Scheffler, 28, put on a ball striking clinic particularly on the back nine to fire a brilliant 6-under 65.

The two-time major champion played the final five holes in 5-under par, highlighted by a stunning eagle from two feet on the short par-4 14th.

Scheffler also birdied the 15th, 17th and 18th to move to 11-under par.

The World No.1 now takes a commanding three-shot lead over Alex Noren heading into Sunday's final round.

Noren, who has never won a major, surged up the board on Saturday with a 66.

The Swede is making just his second consecutive start on Tour having spent 31 weeks on the sidelines due to a neck injury.

Davis Riley (67) and JT Poston (68) find themselves a further shot back in third on 7-under par.

Jon Rahm (67), Si Woo Kim (71) and Jhonattan Vegas (73) make up the top five on 6-under par.

Bryson DeChambeau (69) had assumed the outright lead at one stage on 8-under but he endured a tough finish on the feared Green Mile.

DeChambeau bogeyed the 16th and doubled the 17th when finding water from the tee and he fell back to 5-under par.

How will Tommy Fleetwood get on today?

England's Tommy Fleetwood has not had the best start to his third round.

The Englishman, who is playing alongside Viktor Hovland and Jon Rahm, misses the fairway right at the 1st and misses the green with his approach.

All three are 2-under.

Hovland's towering approach sets up a great look for birdie.

Ffrom a perfect position in the fairway, Rahm also hits a gentle fade to the back right pin. Another great look.

Hatton saves par

Niemann -1, Hatton -1, Clark -1 (1)

Hatton splashes out to gimme range from the greenside bunker at the 1st.

Clark and Niemann also walk off the green with pars.

Play resumes

The sun is shining in North Carolina and Tyrrell Hatton gets us back underway with a lovely drive down the middle of the fairway. He finds the trap with his second shot.

Everybody hide!

No comment from Rory McIlroy's team

Rory McIlroy will get his third round underway shortly.

Yesterday, it was revealed by an American radio station that USGA officials deemed his driver 'non-conforming' before the first round of the PGA Championship.

McIlroy was forced to swap his driver on Tuesday.

He proceeded to hit only four of 14 fairways in round one and battled hard to make the cut on the number yesterday.

Since the news broke the PGA of America have declined to comment.

The USGA also took a similar position, with a spokesperson saying test results are kept confidential and its up to the player whether to disclose that information.

The radio station that broke the news stressed McIlroy was not at fault in any way or was even aware of the issue.

McIlroy's team have also declined to comment when approached by GolfDigest.

What time will play resume?

Practice facilities have now opened and the players are getting ready to resume play shortly.

The first group will get underway at 16:43 BST (11.43 local time).

That three ball features LIV Golf recruits Tyrrell Hatton and Joaquin Niemann and former U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark.

Niemann was given a special invitation by the PGA of America to take part this week.

Sergio Garcia, Tom McKibbin and Dustin Johnson were the other golfers from the PIF-backed league to be handed starts here this week.

Of the 16 LIV players in the field, only eight players made the cut.

John Catlin, Dean Burmester, Cameron Smith, Martin Kaymer, Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson and the aforementioned Johnson exited at the halfway stage.
