Here's what it's actually like to get fitted at TaylorMade's The Kingdom UK

The brand's new world-class fitting centre, located at The Grove, brings a tour-grade experience and luxurious accommodation to British and European golfers for the first time.

The Kingdom, TaylorMade's legendary Carlsbad-based fitting facility, is a mecca for pro golfers and amateurs alike, offering the absolute pinnacle of tour-level fitting.

Now, after almost a year of construction and much speculation, the UK instalment of The Kingdom – the first to open outside of the States, is here and open to the public.

TaylorMade made the announcement late last year that it would be transforming its existing fitting centre, based at Hertfordshire's The Grove, into a UK counterpart to its most famed equipment HQ capable of giving British and European golfers the same world-class experience as that offered in California. Thus, the second ever Kingdom was born.

“The Kingdom has long been recognised as the ultimate expression of TaylorMade performance and custom fitting, and we’re thrilled to open our first The Kingdom venue outside of the United States," says TaylorMade Vice President & Managing Director EMEAP David Silvers.

"Opening The Kingdom at The Grove to the public is a major step in allowing more golfers to experience the same level of insight, precision and care that our tour players trust every week.”

To do so, TaylorMade has massively expanded the footprint of the existing facility, making it the largest of its kind in the UK. Players going for a fitting at The Kingdom will have access not just to a 320-yard purpose-built driving range, but an 850 square metre teeing area and a 4,000‑square‑metre short‑game complex, all designed to replicate elite‑level fitting conditions.

While The Kingdom welcomes visitors on day trips, for players from further afield the experience starts at The Grove's golf resort, which features five-star accommodation on-site. Guests can expect a buffet breakfast before their fitting as well as access to one of Hertfordshire's best spa facilities.

The reception has been perhaps the most shared and talked-about area of the Kingdom since previews were revealed last year, and the final result is every bit as stunning as the renders.

Inside, golfers have access to exclusive TaylorMade The Kingdom Merch, as well as a curated collection of Sun Day Red apparel – the first time the brand's clothes have been made available in a store outside of the US. The space is also adorned with an enviable collection of TaylorMade tour merch, including Rory McIlroy's Masters-winning staff bag from 2025, signed by the Grand Slam Champion himself.

The Kingdom is staffed by a team of TaylorMade master fitters, armed with the largest array of shafts and components ever seen in a UK fitting centre of its kind. 1,800 shaft options will be available across the bag, including 56 exclusive to The Kingdom, while all fitting will take place using TaylorMade TP5 golf balls.

Fitting takes place using an array of the world's most advanced equipment, including TrackMan 4 units in the driving bays and portable Foresight GC Quad Max units, which are used for fitting different parts of the bag due to the type of data they can provide.

This is supplemented with the use GEARS motion capture software, a world-first technology that is able to pinpoint the behaviour of the club and shaft throughout the entire swing. Our first fitting took place at the The Kingdom's range area to put all of these technologies to the test, and the results didn't disappoint.

The Kingdom also offers a greatly expanded putter fitting facility, with a dedicated studio equipped once again with GEARS motion capture software as well as a Quintic ball roll tracking system, which basically acts like a launch monitor for putts. "It's one of the simplest clubs to fit, says TaylorMade Master Fitter Luke Gregory, "but without the tools and the tech it's very difficult to make informed recommendations. We'll let you putt how you putt, and match the putter style to your game without getting you to try and change anything."

The cherry on top, however, lies in The Kingdom's on-site club build lab, a sort of stationary tour truck that enables players to be fit into their clubs and walk away with them on the same day. While the lab doesn't build irons on the day, metalwoods, hybrids, wedges and putters can all be built there and then (provided the right components are in stock).

"There's nothing worse than getting fit and having to wait four or five weeks for your clubs," says Gregory. "Here we can have it done in 35 minutes while you have a cup of coffee."
