When a hot new trend emerges in the world of golf equipment, you can be all too sure that Cobra are either at the very forefront of it or very close behind.

The brand made headlines last week by expanding its innovative 3D printed iron line-up to encompass three full models and in turn it felt like only a matter of time before they released a product to go toe to toe with the best new mini drivers on the market. Now, they have.

New for the 2026 season, the KING TEC MINI is Cobra's first foray into mini driver territory, offering golfers both a reliable fairway finder and a longer, more versatile alternative to the three wood off the deck. Lofted at 13.5 degrees and equipped with a fairway wood-length 43.75” shaft, Cobra hopes the KING TEC MINI can provide not just a workable option of the tee for its roster of tour pros, but a confidence-inspiring option for everyday hackers who struggle to find consistent results with the big stick.

“We’ve seen a significant number of Tour players put mini drivers in their bag in the last year with great success,” said Dan Ladd, president of Cobra Puma Golf.

“We think there are a lot of recreational players who can also benefit from the combination of distance and accuracy mini-drivers provide, especially with the addition of Cobra’s industry-leading technologies and fitting capabilities.”

Key to the KING TEC MINI's versatility is its adoption of Cobra's much-loved FUTUREFIT33 hosel technology, which offers 33 unique loft and lie combinations allowing players to specifically tune their club to produce desired flight characteristics.

Away from the hosel, the KING TEC MINI is pretty much a brand new ground-up design, combining a high carbon content crown with an 811 titanium body and a titanium PWRSHELL face insert.

H.O.T. Face Technology incorporated into the face helps deliver higher ball speeds both on good strikes and off-centre hits, while an adjustable 12g weight can be moved forward or backward on the sole to produce either low spin and additional ball speed or more forgiveness and launch.

The Cobra KING TEC MINI driver will hit store shelves on January 16 at an RRP of £449.
