Last week, during a review of Nike's Victory Pro 4 golf shoes, I put it out into the universe that it was maybe time for the Swoosh to up its game a little bit.

The shoes, of course, were fine. Scottie Scheffler wouldn't wear them if they weren't. But it's doubltess that compared to brands like adidas and Puma, Nike Golf's output in the last few years has been a little on the dry side – particularly for a brand once synonymous with excitement in the game.

Thankfully, it seems as if our prayers have been answered almost immediately – but not in the way we were expecting.

The reveal that has golf fashion nuts excited came courtesy of former U.S. Open Women's champ Michelle Wie West. Retired from the pro game but still a Nike ambassador, Wie West dropped a surprise behind-the-scenes look at a photoshoot she did with Scottie Scheffler, Tom Kim and skateboarder Sean Malto, revealing in tandem that as part of a wider brand refresh, Nike Golf's iconic shield logo is set to return in a big way for the 2026 season.

Fans of the game during the '90s and 2000s will talk at length over the chokehold Nike golf, along with its distinguishable shielf motif, had over the sport during this arguable golden era for the sport. It was a time of The Oven, Tiger in his pomp, iconic adverts, that shot of Tiger's Nike ball dropping into the cup at the 2004 Masters.

To revive the shield immediately brings back memories of all of this, giving Nike's golf offering an immediate shot in the arm.

It's unconfirmed if the collection modelled by the four will form a simple capsule collection or represents a wider refresh for Nike's golfing arm as a whole. Either way, we're seriously excited by what they have cooking.
