What is the Ben Hogan brand in 2025?

The namesake manufacturer, founded by one of the game's most iconic players, has had a bit of a resurgence since its revival in late 2023, pivoting from making affordable and, if we're being honest, rather forgettable golf clubs into a direct-to-consumer model that has leant far more heavily into the brand's heritage branding and premium air.

It's fair to say the change in approach has worked. With more and more golfers displaying an openness buying clubs through a direct to consumer model, Ben Hogan's commitment to old-school styling, a heritage feel and modern technology is a key point of difference for the brand.

A such, it feels like there's a bit of buzz around Ben Hogan once again.

The most illustrative release from the brand in recent times has been its Fort Worth irons: a set of old-school muscle backs that channeled old school styling while delivering a deliciously pure forged feel – all for well under the standard cost for a set of forged blades.

Now, the Fort Worth range has expanded to cover the short game as well with the release of Ben Hogan's first forged wedges in some time. And they're promising to do exactly what the irons do: provide high-end performance, a classic aesthetic and an inviting price point to tie it all together.

Still forged and manufactured from start to finish in Hogan's spiritual home of Texas, the Fort Worth Grind Wedges are the most premium wedges to come from the brand to date. Each wedge is forged from premium steel, with CNC club face milling and aggressive U-shaped grooves for outstanding stopping power.

Keeping to the aesthetic of the wider Fort Worth range, these aren't the most minimalistic clubs in the world: rather Hogan's signature logo and the brand's distinctive red accents are plain for all to see. Even so, they present a clean, classy package and one that would undoubtedly blend in beautifully with a set of Fort Worth Irons.

Available in lofts ranging from 50 to 60 degrees, the Fort Worth Grind wedges are available now for £129.95 each. You can find out more at Ben Hogan Golf.
