Nike references Scottie Scheffler arrest in celebratory PGA Championship post
Nike has released an immediate advert with refence to Scottie Scheffler's PGA Championship arrest.
Nike has released an immediate advert to celebrate Scottie Scheffler's PGA Championship victory with reference to his arrest in the tournament last season.
Scheffler, 28, saw out a commanding five-shot win at Quail Hollow Club on Sunday to capture his third career major title.
His deserved PGA Championship triumph now sits alongside his two Masters wins in 2022 and 2024.
The World No.1 is now half way to the career grand slam.
Should he go on to win both the U.S. Open and The Open this summer then he will join Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods in the career grand slam club.
He has also now won back-to-back titles on the PGA Tour.
Scheffler's apparel and footwear sponsor Nike immediately took to social media off the back of his latest major win.
"Best player in the world? Guilty," read a caption on Nike's graphic of Scheffler driving off the 15th tee.
Scheffler was sponsored by Nike even before he turned professional in 2018.

Nike is of course referencing Scheffler having been arrested by a police officer outside of Valhalla Golf Club just hours before the start of his second-round tee time at the 2024 PGA Championship.
Scheffler tried to drive into the golf club during heavy traffic following a fatality in the area.
He was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding traffic signals from an officer.
Scheffler's mugshot in an orange jumpsuit then immediately went viral, but he was let free in order to still compete in the tournament.
He went on to finish an incredible T8 given the circumstances.
After further evidence was reviewed, all charges were eventually dropped against Scheffler.
Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell said Scheffler's actions did not "satisfy the elements of any criminal offence" and "corroborated" Scheffler's assertation that the incident was a "big misunderstanding".
Nike also posted an immediate video ad when McIlroy won The Masters last month.
