While well-regarded in its native Korea for manufacturing dozens of different golf ball models for all manner of players and swings, Volvik’s reputation further afield is a little more niche.

Famed for their vibrant  designs and big-name merchandise collaborations (if you want a premium Marvel or Star Wars golf ball, these are the guys to go to), we tend to associate Volvik with bright colours, loud designs and balls that catch the eye while offering top-end performance.

That reputation, however, is slowly shifting. With more than 45 years of industry R&D behind it, Volvik re-establishing itself as an engineering powerhouse. Already the number 2 ball brand in Korea and the holder of more than 60 patents for ball design, Volvik is now beginning to flex its muscles on a wider scale.

Now, it looks poised to join the league of the major tour ball players with the introduction of a host of new products that directly cater to the needs of the best golfers in the world.

Central to Volvik’s expansion into the premium space is the introduction of the brand new Condor line, a range of premium urethane balls offering elite spin, feel and distance with a luxurious soft feel.

“Our design team have assembled what we firmly believe is our most complete Tour-performance golf ball offering to date,” says David Kang, Volvik Head of Global Business.

The range comprises four main variants, each intended for a different type of high-level player. The Condor S3 and S4 form a pair of soft-feel, high spin balls with slightly lower compression scores to suit more moderate swing speeds (think below 85mph).

The S3, as the name suggests, is the softer of the two with its three-piece construction, while the S4 adds another layer for added spin and a slightly firmer feel. Both feature Volvik’s Hyper-White Carbon Soft Core, surrounded by a Hyper W-Carbonic Soft & Elastin Dual Mantle, the two working in tandem to boost elasticity for greater distance.

Catering to the needs of faster swingers are the Condor and Condor X models, which have slightly higher compression scores and, importantly, introduce cast urethane covers for even greater spin and consistency.

Like many other brands, the standard Condor is softer, lower-launching and prioritises touch over raw spin. The Condor X adds an extra layer for added spin around the greens, a slightly firmer feel and a higher ball flight. The Condor will hit the sweet spot for players swinging it between 85 and 95mph, while for the most powerful swingers and those who really want to dial in their launch and spin, the Condor X is a fantastic option.

Both feature Volvik’s most powerful Hyper W-Carbonic Power Core, wrapped in a Hyper W-Carbonic Soft & Elastin Dual Mantle for the most explosive distance and highest spin rates attainable in a Volvik ball.

“Each model in the franchise delivers fantastic performance across a wide range of
club head speeds,” Kang continues. “So we’d strongly encourage golfers to put a Condor ball in play and discover the game-enhancing benefits on offer.”
