Puma Golf x Reigning Champ is one of the summer's slickest apparel collabs

With the PGA tour approaching its pointy end, a major week upon us and the Ryder Cup back on the horizon, it's officially high season for flashy golf wear collabs.

Already in the past couple of months we've seen Reebok revive their golf range with a big-budget Manors collab, FootJoy team up with Harris Tweed and TravisMathew launch a special-edition golf shoe with Guinness. Now, hot on the heels of their collaboration with AC Milan unveiled last week, the brand is back with another Football-inspired golf capsule—this one alongside Canadian luxury athleisure brand Reigning Champ.

Drawing as much inspiration from football culture as it does the course, the collection adopts a number of aesthetics and silhouettes that would look as at home on the terraces or the five-a-side pitch as it would the club house. A rework of the classic PUMA King Indoor football shoe is dressed in a slick suede, while the terrace favourite Palermo sneaker gets a golf-ready makeover with a spikeless sole and a waterproof leather upper.

Meanwhile, PUMA's breathable MATTR Golf Polo is dressed up in a pattern inspired by classic soccer jerseys, and a baggy matching tracksuit rounds the collection off with a little bit of that classic '90s football manager vibe.

For the more neutrally-minded, a number of casual staples have also received the collab treatment. The collection includes tees, quarter-zip fleeces, as well as structured and unstructured hats, making for the perfect addition to any range rotation.

The collection is modeled in a fresh lookbook by PUMA Golf star and Open Championship hopeful Rickie Fowler. “As an athlete and lifelong sports fan, I love how the Field to Fairway collection celebrates sport at an international level. 

"Both sports continue to grow on the world stage, we’re in a Ryder Cup year and the World Cup is just around the corner, so this feels like the perfect time to collab,” said the American. “It’s a sharp collection and I look forward to wearing it in competition.”
