TaylorMade's Spider putter range is already legendary for its forgiveness and the sheer fact that it simply makes putting easier, but TaylorMade isn't a brand to rest on its laurels.

Almost a year to the day from the reveal of the brand's first zero torque putter, the Spider ZT, TaylorMade has quietly unveiled a new addition to its zero torque line-up, the Spider Max – which appears essentially to be an even more forgiving, oversized version of the original.

The new putter was spied by GolfWRX equipment insider Alistair Cameron, with Tour Photographer Greg Moore capturing the new putter on the practice green at the Colonial Country Club.

The Spider ZT Max looks near-identical to its sibling, however the larger head will serve to enhance stability and overall MOI to help players of all abilities present a square face at impact while offsetting the effects of poor strokes.

As with the original 5K-ZT, the Spider ZT Max is presented in a bright aqua blue with a black body and silver accents. As with the original, it's made from 303 stainless steel at the front, with a lower-density 6061 aerospace aluminium on the back – the two combining to form a high-MOI framework.

It also has a centre-shafted profile in the manner of most zero torque putters, with 1 degree of shaft lean and 25mm of onset to help present a more natural look at address.

A cambered sole also helps players and aim the putter at address and deliver it to that same square position at impact.

The Spider proved an immediate success both with everyday players and at a tour level, with Brian Harman using one en route to his victory at the 2025 Valero Texas Open.

Official details on the putter are yet to be revealed, but we'll be sure to bring you more news of the Spider ZT Max's official release as it surfaces.
