"Well, I don't bring it up, you guys do" - Brooks Koepka makes yet another equipment tweak
Brooks Koepka has revealed he has changed putters again ahead of this week's PGA Tour event.
Brooks Koepka has revealed he has changed putter again ahead of this week's PGA Tour event.
The American, 36, has rediscovered form in much of his game, but one area remains a persistent weakness.
By his own admission, the five-time major champion has been dreadful on the greens.
He has used at least four different putters since returning to the PGA Tour from LIV Golf in January.
Koepka opted to use a TaylorMade Spider Tour V for last week's PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club.
After 54 holes, the three-time PGA Championship winner was in contention to add a fourth Wanamaker Trophy to his cabinet, but a final-round 74 saw him drop down the leaderboard and share 55th place.
It was his putting, once again, that let him down.
On the greens this season, Koepka now ranks 141st out of 161 players on the PGA Tour in the putting department.
"Well, I don't bring it up, you guys do," Koepka told one reporter in his news conference ahead of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson when asked about his putting woes.
Koepka said he has decided to use a Scotty Cameron Fastback 1.5 at TPC Craig Ranch.
He said the mid mallet putter feels good in his hands, adding: "I feel like I've struggled with the toe release a little bit, kind of fighting that, kind of holding it off, and this putter seems to have a little bit more toe hang, to get kind of scientific with it or more in depth on it.

"It's got a bit more toe hang than what I have been using all year, kind of similar to the blade.
"I know the CG's up closer to the front of the face, which is kind of what I'm looking for."
Koepka continued: "So hopefully I can just kind some confidence with it and build some momentum off of it.
"I think I look back at last week, which I'm very kind of annoyed with because I kind of let the last couple holes get away from me just from maybe a little bit of anger or annoyance, maybe more of an annoyance thing, of not making any putts and feeling like you've got to go at flags."
Koepka returned to the PGA Tour in January from LIV Golf via a returning member programme.
He has played in 10 events since, including the Masters and US PGA, and recorded his best finish at the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches (ninth) and missed three cuts.
Koepka said he has fallen back in love with golf.
"Every week is a new fresh start for me," he said. "Obviously with my penalty I'm not allowed to play every event, and if I get the chance to tee up, I want to play.
"I've mentioned it a couple times, I've kind of fallen back in love with this. I'm enjoying the grind. I'm enjoying battling it out here.
"It's just a newfound love, a newfound passion for the game, and something that I'm really, really enjoying being back on the road and grinding it out and trying to find it in the dirt. I think there's something to be said about that.
"Each week is becoming more and more fun, and I very much enjoy that."
