Bubba Watson takes CRAZY line off the tee at ZOZO Championship

Tiger Woods may have won the ZOZO Championship to equal Sam Snead's record of 82 PGA Tour victories, but there's a large portion of social media who are talking about another American golfer, Bubba Watson.

Watson didn't exactly find his Masters-winning form in Japan last week, in fact he finished the tournament in T51 shooting a total score of one-over par, but that hasn't stopped everyone from debating over one of his shots from his final round.

Some are calling it crazy, some genius and some fans are pretty furious with the lack of respect Watson had for the course and the course designer after he pulled off an insane shot during his final round of the ZOZO Championship.

Watson was on the 6th hole, a dog-leg right par 5 that really doesn't favour a left-handed player who is known for playing a huge cut off of the tee with a driver.

Instead of playing his shot down the fairway, Watson decided that there was a better route for him to take, by hitting the ball sideways, in between the tee marker and hole sign, through the trees and over a completely different hole.

When you see a birds-eye-view of the line that Watson took, you could arguably say it makes sense, as it made the hole a lot shorter for him, but when you see the video that emerged of the shot, you'll think he is absolutely bonkers for trying it.

Watson was pretty far down the leaderboard so he was probably doing this for a bit of fun, but had he been tied for the lead, I think it's safe to say that Watson might have played it a little safer. Check out the shot for yourself below:

The shot didn't exactly pay off for Watson, as he ended up with a standard par for the hole, but Watson seemed pretty chuffed with the shot himself, defending his actions on Twitter.
