Furyk names Woods, Mickelson and DeChambeau as US Ryder Cup wildcards

United States Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk has named Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau as his three wildcard picks in his team for their biennial clash with Europe at Le Golf National from September 28 to 30.

Furyk will make his final wildcard pick after this week's BMW Championship - the third leg in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Woods, who had initially been named as one of Furyk's vice-captains in the team, has accumulated an indifferent 14.5 points from a total of 33 matches in the Ryder Cup.

Mickelson has picked up 24.5 points from a possible 45, while DeChambeau, fresh off landing consecutive titles in the FedEx Cup Playoffs and a fourth PGA Tour title, will be making his debut.

European Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn names all four of his wildcards on Wednesday at 2pm (UK time).
