It was a fantastic birdie putt to win the match at the last hole by Justin Thomas, which followed with a passionate celebration with his captain and playing partner Tiger Woods, but what he shouted out confused a lot of golf fans.

Thomas and Woods were all square in their match against Byeong Hun An and Hideki Matsuyama, when JT was faced with a testing 14-footer for birdie at the final hole.

The fast greens at Royal Melbourne have already proved a challenge to a lot of the players during this year's Presidents Cup, but JT rolled it in beautifully to win the match and another point for the USA.

JT and Tiger roared with emotion and Thomas could be heard shouting "I love me some me" and at the time, a lot of golf fans were either confused or thought they'd misheard the American.

Following their victory, Thomas was asked in a press conference what he meant by the quote.

“Should I tell him?” Thomas turned to his good friend Rickie Fowler, but Fowler was also confused as to what JT meant. “Remember those videos we were watching this morning?”

Thomas then explained where the quote came from. “There’s a video of Terrell Owens, just T.O. being T.O., but he yells ‘I love me some me!'” he told the media. “And I showed it to the guys this morning, they hadn’t seen it, and I said, ‘If I make a big putt today, I’m yelling it.’ And that was about the biggest putt I could make, so I figured it was a pretty appropriate time to yell it.”

Woods was asked if he knew about the quote, to which he said he was "very familiar with it."

“We were looking at it, and we had our moment on the last hole, and we both said it at the same time.”

A tweet from GOLF. MAGAZINE's Dylan Dethier reminded viewers just what Thomas was talking about, with a clip of Terrell Owens.
